Disconnected
Personal July 3rd. 2007, 9:31amCourtney’s always telling me to put my phone down. Ever since I procured my MDA I’m constantly checking something on it.
Well, the day came last week. I woke up Wednesday morning and was unable to turn my phone on. It’s always been a little finicky with battery life, barely running for a day and a half without a charge. While out with friends Tuesday night the battery ran dry and it died. An overnight charge did not bring the monster back. So I’ve been gadgetless and incommunicado for an entire week.
Courtney claims that it was a well planned device hiccup with all the iPhone nonsense of the last week. Sadly, though, I’m in the middle of my current T-Mobile contract and I’m not willing to pay $200 to hop carriers. So I’m left trying to fix or replace my dead MDA ASAP.
It’s been a quiet week if anything. I can say I’ve been hindered too much without the phone because, in all honesty, I don’t know what I’m missing. No one can get a hold of me so it doesn’t really matter if I miss it. Granted, there were a few times this weekend while at Chad and Tina’s wedding that I wished I had some sort of communication device.
So after dilly-dallying for an entire week I finally ordered a new cellphone battery. It’s a cheap attempt at fixing the phone. It just needs to make it 8 more months until my contract ends. Then I can get my iPhone. w00t.

I got the Tmobile Dash a couple months back. I like it but I don’t love it. I guess I just haven’t found enough uses for it but I’m glad that it has the capabilities that hopefully someday I’ll need. Got to hold an iPhone the other day and thought it was cool but not 600 bux cool. dang.. i’m not nearly as geeky as I should be. for shame.

When I was researching new phones I was contemplating a Dash. Although I’m not a gigantic fan of Windows Mobile, I think it would be hard to go back to a traditional cell phone. Sad to hear that the Dash is just as big as a let down as my MDA.
In the end I won’t be getting an iPhone because I don’t want to switch to AT&T. I’m quite content with T-Mobile. It’s a shame that T-Mobile doesn’t have better phones, though. Here’s hoping Apple comes out with a AT&T-less version of their phone.

I wouldn’t say it’s a let down by any means. I actually like it a lot. It’s just that I use about 2% of it’s functionality so I kinda feel stupid for getting it. I got a Surburban a few years back and was like.. dang.. this thing is a tank.. maybe too big. Now that we got 2 kiddos, it’s seems small sometimes. I hope to grow into the Dash in the same way, maybe twitter more than once a month. I can’t really critique the Windows Mobile thang but I do know it’s not as slick as the iPhone. But I dock the iPhone for not having Flash on it, lame.
