I watched and cheered my brother on this weekend as he ran the Twin Cities marathon. I caught him, with the rest of my family, around the half way mark at Lake Nokomis in southern Minneapolis. It was really inspiring to watch him run this race, something that he had never done before and trained so hard for. I waited with baited breath for 2 hours to watch him go flying by in a blink of an eye. Just as he approached Michelle, his wife, he huffed out the words, “I love you,” grabbed his water bottle and flew out of sight. It was one of those moments when the sun shined a bit brighter.
The pictures I took of the race can be found here. Most of them are of dogs because, well, I didn’t really see many people I knew running the race. I managed to get the moment Drew swung by Michelle.
