Mike Doughty is coming back to Minneapolis again this year! Tour dates are on his site. November 15th and he’s going to be with a full band. Chances are it’s the same band that backs up Dan Wilson. And he’s playing First Avenue, which he hasn’t done in years. I’m very, very excited. Last show we saw with Mike was half solo and half backed by a band. It was noticable durin his solo set that he was quite excited to just rock out with the band. And rock they did. Watch First Avenue’s calendar for ticket information. Last time tickets went fast.

All Segway human transporters have been recalled. When the scooter runs low on power it can’t keep upright which is a falling hazard. Who didn’t see this one coming?
I just wasted 30 minutes playing Rockface Rescue. What the hell do I need my Xbox for when there are games like these?!
P.S. My Mike Doughty CD hasn’t arrived yet. I’m none too happy about it.
Mike Doughty just released a new E.P. Get it while it’s hot. He tends to keep a short supply of discs.
Well, one good thing about the latest round of virii and patches, I’m no longer being murdered by bogus web site hacks. At the peak I would receive 6000 attempts a month. I’ve seen only 1 so far this month. Thank you.
GlobalRichList.com really puts my life in perspective. Here I am with a brown lawn worrying about watering it so it’s just as green as the neighbors and there’s 4 billion people poorer than me.
Courtney and I went to see Matchstick Men last night. The movie was very entertaining. Just like many other con artist movies there are so many twists and turns that your emotions are all over the place. And in the ending 10 minutes all conflicts are resolved. It’s based on a book which I now need to read.
I have switched from Outlook Express to Mozilla’s Thunderbird. I have a tiny spam problem with my email. I get about 80 spams a day. I use some software on my mail server which catches about 70% of the spam. I typically still get 20 spams in my inbox a day. Thunderbird has some built-in bayesean spam filtering so I thought I should give it a try. I am proud to say that today is the first day in a long time that I am spam free. I would suggest checking out Thunderbird. It is a great email client.
Last Saturday I went to Menard’s 3 times and Buffalo Wild Wings twice.
I went to the doc’s today. I have a lump on my right knee. It is a little concerning because it’s causing me some pain. Turns out that it’s nothing more then some fluid/cyst/soft tissue on my knee. It doesn’t help the fact that it hurts every once in awhile when I’m working around the house. Nonetheless they didn’t remove any appendages so I consider it a win for me.
You may wonder what I have been up to over the past two months. Well, nothing special really. I’ve had my nose to the grindstone at work which has made playing around at home not a top priority. I’ve been trying to keep the wife and dogs happy. I’ve been trying to finish as well as start some new projects around the house. Courtney and I started sanding down some old end tables that we acquired from her parents. The tables have years of paint layered on. It has taken me 3 weeks and 3 new sanders to finish the first end table. I’m having second thoughts about finishing the other end table.
So, that’s been my life for the last 2 months. Court and I have just kept on rollin’. If you were to ask me to summarize the summer in one word blurbs it would be: concerts, shows, horses, yard, cars, houses, and work.
