Here’s my brother’s real birthday present:

He’s 21 on September 5th. He headed to college yesterday but I forgot to get his address from him. Soooo. Instead I will reap the benefits of his procrastination for a little while.

Today shall be a good day

I have a feeling that today will be a good day. Maybe it’s just my disposition. Maybe it actually will be. I think the extremes in weather has had me in a slump. Bitch, bitch, bitch.

Lou Reed can get anyone out of a slump.

Who’s says Microsoft creates bloatware? Surely not me. I installed Visual Studio .NET beta 2 last night which is practically necessary to develop anything for the next generation of Microsoft. 5 CDs and 2 hours to install. Fun.

I love Pop Tarts.

I’ve been waiting to link this game, Pingis, until I actually beat it. See here. It’s a highly addictive table tennis game which physics are very believable.

Super Troopers

Before I forget I saw a trailer at J&SBSB for a not-to-miss movie called Super Troopers. Check out the trailer here. And no bitching about Quicktime not working on your computer. I don’t care.

Recap

The weekend started with a Mike’s Hard Lemonade on Friday and it got better from there. Friday night Courtney and I had made a date for dinner and a movie, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. So I planned it out figuring that finding a Pizza Hut near a theater willing to playing J&SBSB would be tough. And it was. Granted, it could have been MUCH easier than I made it out to be. But I’m very picky about theaters so we only had two choices of theaters. And one of them only had it on one screen at an odd time so that one was out. So to Kerasotes it was! We drove around for 20 minutes trying to find the Pizza Hut that Pizzahut.com said was down there but we had no luck. So we cruised into a very tiny Carbone’s Pizza and enjoyed having the dining hall(4 tables) all to ourselves.

Off to the movie. Long story short, if you don’t like Kevin Smith and you can’t stand the word “fuck” being used over 200 times then don’t see this movie. Otherwise, boobookittyfuck.

For some reason on Saturday I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I was just too tired. I did some early morning running, met with Courtney after she worked the morning at Dick’s Bar and Grill, and headed home to sleep. I don’t know what was wrong with me. I just couldn’t stay awake.

Sunday was very eventful. Courtney went to Rogers in the morning/afternoon to get her horse. Wahoo! I joined her at the barn around 3pm. It’s not named yet. But things like Joey, Jimmy, Carlos, Ed, and Oliver have been tossed around.

Two new picture galleries have been added. Rico’s cabin and Courtney’s horse pictures. There aren’t many cabin pictures. I really wasn’t in the mood to be snapping pictures. But I got a few so at least I can remember that I was there.

Worth it

It is worth staying until 5pm on Friday if I get a Mike’s Hard Lemonade.

Olestra

Personal No Comments »

Remember about 5-8 years ago when a controversial food additive hit the market called Olestra? It was commonly added to potato chips to lower the amount of fat in chips. The chips were marketed as “FAT FREE!” but retaining their same fatty taste. But Olestra never took off because of it’s very common side effects which included diarreha.

I am here to warn you that Olestra has taken on a new identity but still is a hidden danger! Do NOT buy anything with the marketed name “Olean.” Sure, the name may have changed but the additive hasn’t. I can 100% confirm all the side effect reports are true.

p.s. I’m well aware I shouldn’t be posting this sort of information.

Bathroom foolery

I gave my toilet some shit this morning. And it gave some shit right back at me.

Stupid toilets.

My little brother (he may be turning 21 but he’s still shorter) is heading back to school this weekend so the family is going to Famous Dave’s to celebrate his birthday which is somewhere around the first day of school. Yes, I know when his birthday is. No, I don’t know when his first day of classes are. Anyway. His gift better get here today or I will be pissed. Next Day Air shipping my ass.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back comes out tomorrow. I’m scheming a way to see it. I promised Courtney pizza sometime this week. I think that’s my in. :) She seemed game for a date tomorrow.

Aron and John are coming into the city for lunch today. It means I get the D (Sawatdee) again. After this morning, though, I don’t know if it’s such a good idea.

I “picked up” a game called Max Payne on the suggestion of Aron. It’s Yet Another first person shooter. But what makes this one fun is the time-stoppage effect, like in the Matrix. When playing you can actually dive around a corner in slow motion. It’s great fun. It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed playing a game. Partially due to my computer loathing me. But also with Aron’s help it appears that I may have found the problem to my computer woes. Turns out the brand spankin’ new hard drives I’ve purchased over the last 6 months (3 of them for you people keeping score at home) run like hot stoves. I need to find some supercooling fast. Maybe Radio Shack can help me out.

“We’ll just take him! heheh….” is what the homeless man yelled at me and to his companion from the brush where they had stayed the night. It was enough to send shivers up my spine as imagery from the Blair Witch Project flashed through my mind.

I saw a woman walk out of the gym and light up a cigarette.

My computer decided it didn’t like me again. This time it’s my fault I think. I installed stuff that I shouldn’t have. Dammit.

Southside

Southside by Moby is a great song. It makes me want to get in my car and just drive. Have I ever mentioned that I have a very poor and eclectic taste in music? I have heard Livin’ on a Prayer by the Jovi,Southside by Moby, and Butterfly by Mason Jennings in a row.

Corporate Wish

I wish people at work would stop screwing with my stuff. It’s not that I don’t want them touching my stuff. It’s that I don’t like it when I get home after a 30 minute walk home to find that the children at work couldn’t leave my webcam alone. They attempted to “hide” it so in the morning it would take pictures of my ass. Did they NOT realize it’s a webcam? It posts pictures to the web. I check my website like a person with a mild case of turrets.

I finished Neuromancer. Excellent, excellent book. My replacement 60gig drive showed up earlier this week. I removed WinXP from my system. I was still able to rip CDs to mp3s in WinXP. This weekend Courtney and I are heading to Rico’s cabin. It’s going to be some much needed 100% relaxation time with booze. I need it.
