Well, my pauxpas.com experiment was interesting to say the least. I became intregued technically with a site called camrecord.com. I spent the past month implementing and stress-testing my own version of the site. I was very proud of my creation and the userbase was growing very quickly. But one thing I failed to acknowledge is that the webcam community is much like the popular clique in high school. They are very selective with who they let in to the group. And they shun outsiders quite harshly. I felt the wrath of some pretty bitter people including the creator of camrecord.com. I try and think about it from his standpoint. Would I be angry or flattered that someone copied my site? Hmmm. Well, I’m going to publish my code as open-source to help refine the code. It needs a lot of tweaking. I’m hoping the community can help me out.
