I’ve been doing a lot of surfing tonight. TV’s too boring and I’ve got too much caffiene in my system to go to bed. I’ve realized something. The paper zine of 20 years ago has really given way to the weblog of today. There was an art, a science to making a good zine on paper. And there is still an art to doing a weblog. But so many people do it wrong. That’s the thing. There are too many voyeurs out there. Too many sick fucks. For example, check out Am I Hot or Not?. This is a website devoted to posting pictures of people (mostly women) and having the general public rate them. Granted, I think it’s a very *unique* use of the web but after four or five clicks one realizes that most of the pictures are of teenage girls. And do you think that these teenaged girls put their pictures on htere? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
